Assistant Professor of English (Fiction Writing) in Gambier, OH
The English department at Kenyon College invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor position in creative writing with a specialization in fiction. We welcome candidates working in genre-fiction, including science fiction, fantasy, and young adult, as well as those with experience in other prose forms, such as creative nonfiction, science and nature writing, and journalism. We seek candidates who can broaden the English department’s curricular diversity, including candidates with artistic and pedagogical interests in gender, race, and ethnicity. Position is set to begin on July 1, 2023. Teaching requirement will be five courses per year (divided 3:2 or 2:3) and will include courses at all levels of the curriculum. Additional responsibilities will include contributions to the life of the English department and the College (including advising students, directing honors projects, and participating in faculty governance). Evidence of teaching excellence at the undergraduate level is required. Candidates should hold an MFA or Ph.D. in creative writing and have a significant record of publication, preferably one book published or under contract. Enrollment Coordinator: Catalyst Programs in Gambier, OH
Kenyon invites applications for an Enrollment Coordinator for Kenyon’s premier diversity and access programs: Kenyon Academic Partnership (KAP), Camp IV, Kenyon Educational Enrichment Program (KEEP) and STEM. This is a 12-month, full-time, exempt position in Kenyon’s Enrollment Division with occasional opportunity to work remotely. This individual will partner closely with staff in the College’s Admissions Office on recruitment outreach, which includes digital and print communications, campus visits and events, and partnerships with high school counselors, teachers and Community Based Organizations. The Enrollment Coordinator will also support the selection and enrollment processes. For all four programs, partnership with faculty and staff directors along with colleagues in the Admissions and Financial Aid Offices is essential.

Visiting Assistant Professor in Islam in Gambier, OH
Kenyon College, a highly selective, nationally ranked liberal arts college in central Ohio, invites applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor (VAP) in Religious Studies with a specialization in Islam as a sabbatical replacement. We seek a broadly trained scholar of religion who can teach Islam in a range of historical and geographic contexts engaging with material culture, textual analysis, and/or ethnography. The teaching load is five courses over two semesters (2/3 or 3/2). This includes one section of our department’s introduction to religion course (Encountering Religion in a Global Context) and four other introductory survey and advanced seminar courses in Islam or related areas according to the candidate’s expertise.
