The Information Technology staff are an inclusive group committed to ensuring all students, faculty, staff, alumni, and other campus partners have a safe, productive, enjoyable, and meaningful experience with college technology. We provide creative solutions, responsive services, and reliable secure access to an enabling infrastructure. The Classroom Technology Specialist supports Kenyon’s many technologically equipped classrooms, as well as many meeting rooms, study spaces, where the core teaching mission of the college takes place.

More details on specific skills can be found in the job description.
We are also looking for someone with analytical and troubleshooting experience, effective communication skills, experience working with diverse communities, project management skills, and an ability to meet deadlines.
We value both education and experience. A successful candidate should be comfortable with technology, is curious, and loves to learn. These are the minimum requirements for a successful candidate:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a closely related technology field. An equivalent combination of directly related experience and education is also welcome.
- Experience with audio-visual control systems. (Kenyon uses Extron control systems and training specific to the Extron platform will be provided.)
Kenyon is an employer that understands the complexity of modern life. Our IT staff work flexible hours and function well in a hybrid environment. Some of us work fully remote, others work fully on campus, and you can find any combination in between. We use multiple communication tools to stay in touch and collaborate regardless of geography, though we also enjoy each other’s company. Clearly much of the work in supporting classroom technology has to happen in the classroom itself, but modern control systems can be managed remotely. It is also true that work in the Your work/life requirements are likely to be accommodated within our environment--just ask!
