Kenyon College invites applications for the position of Interim Assistant Swimming Coach - working with both the Men's and Women's teams. The Interim Assistant position will begin no earlier than December 1, 2019 and will conclude around February 15, 2020.
The Assistant Swimming Coach will provide assistance to the Head Coach in all areas associated with creating and sustaining a championship environment and program. Duties of primary importance will include: 1) on deck coaching, 2) student-athlete advising, and 3) limited recruiting – focusing on logistical needs of the program. Additional duties may include: strength training and conditioning, data collection and management, arranging travel, tracking equipment, and managing budgets. Other assignments will be defined by the Head Coach. Candidates should possess excellent organizational skills, outstanding written and verbal communication abilities, and exhibit a strong desire to pursue a career in collegiate coaching at the NCAA Division I, II or III level.The successful candidate may also choose to pursue additional coaching opportunities in the Gambier, Ohio area. These opportunities may include: volunteer assistant with the Kenyon teams (prior to and after interim period), head coach of the local USA swimming team, head coach of the local high school team, swim lesson instructor, and various positions within the Total Performance Swim Camps. All of these positions are paid, excluding the volunteer assistant position, and will be hired outside of Kenyon.
