Visiting Assistant Professor or Instructor of ChineseKenyon College, a highly selective, nationally ranked liberal arts college in central Ohio, invites applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor or Instructor of Chinese position in the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures. This appointment begins in the Fall of 2019. The successful candidate will have excellent teaching and native or near-native fluency. Field of specialization is open. A Ph.D. is preferred, but ABDs are welcome to apply.To apply, candidates should visit the online application site found at http://careers.kenyon.edu. A complete application will be composed of 1) a cover letter discussing the applicant's research and scholarship undertaken, its relevance to the field or discipline, and prior teaching experience; 2) a statement of the applicant's teaching philosophy; 3) a Curriculum Vitae; 4) an unofficial transcript; 5) a sample syllabi for a Chinese course; 6) a lesson plan for a particular day; 7) scholarly writing sample (less than 20 pages); and 8) three (3) letters of recommendation.
