Kenyon College’s Library and Information Services division seeks an innovative, dynamic, and highly collaborative systems analyst who will enthusiastically engage with the campus community, performing duties that include systems analysis, database management, and specialized custom systems work to configure baseline software, to develop data transfers to integrate with other systems, and to develop required reports. The Systems Analyst interacts extensively across departments to support the mission of the College. This position reports to the Director of Information Technology Services in the Library and Information Services division. This is a limited term, 18-month position, with benefits.
Duties and Responsibilities
Implement software, perform upgrades, coordinate testing, troubleshoot application and data problems
Educate users to effectively use the software
Research and analyze how best to use features within the software
Create and maintain custom reports, as needed
Create, manage dataflow and perform system integration on-prem and cloud systems
Perform database management duties such implementation, maintenance, upgrade, optimization, backup, and security, as needed
Perform server administration for on-prem and software-as-a-service/cloud solutions
Participate in College-wide information technology projects with other members of LBIS
Other duties as assigned
Education and Position Requirements
A bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a closely related technology field or equivalent experience
Knowledge of SQL programing and/or in software analysis
College level courses in programming and database administration
Knowledge of and/or experience with common programming languages
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong organizational skills
Critical thinker, technically curious and self-motivated
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Knowledge of any one of the DBMS (Oracle/MS-SQL)
