Reporting to the Managing Director of the Philander Chase Conservancy and the Kokosing Nature Preserve Steward, the administrative assistant has primary responsibility for clerical support, legal record keeping, and meeting and event support for these two non-profit organizations affiliated with Kenyon College. The part-time position is approximately 20 hours per week with benefits.

The successful candidate must • Safeguard highly confidential legal information • Manage multiple projects simultaneously • Establish priorities and use time wisely to accomplish assignments • Be highly motivated and very adaptable to change • Have outstanding organizational skills and event planning expertise • Be able to take initiative and be very productive • Be adept in Google and Microsoft Office (Word/mail merges, PowerPoint and Excel) and electronic file management • Be extremely dependable and able to work well as part of a team • Have excellent written and oral communication skills
Working Conditions: Work is generally performed in the office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment. The ability to occasionally walk challenging terrain and lift items weighing 30 pounds or less and move tables and chairs when necessary for events is required. The ability to obtain College driver certification is required. Very occasional weekend hours are required.
Two year college degree or five years of experience as an administrative assistant. Paralegal experience preferred. Experience in planning meetings and/or organizing large projects. Ability to do independent long- and short-range planning. Driver’s license. Willingness to work occasional weekends and evenings. Previous experience with Kenyon and/or Knox community desirable.
